Mt. Agung is the highest Balinese peak. it is believed that Mt. Agung is the spiritual center of the Balinese universe, since the spirit of the ancestors dwell in this inspiring sight. Direction on Bali is always given with reference to Agung. It is very challenging to climb this mountain. There are two routes lead up Gunung Agung, both involving a long hard climbing, but a really worth with its spectacular sunrise.
