Tanjung Puting National Park encompasses more than 305,000 hectares of tropical rainforest, mangrove forest, and wetlands, and its home to vast variety of fauna, including crocodiles, hornbills, wild pigs, bear cats, crab-eating macaques, orang utans, proboscis monkeys, gibbons, pythons, dolphins, and mudskippers (a kind of fish that can walk and breathe on the land). This is also a habitat for the dragon fish, an aquarium fish worth 700,000Rp and highly valued by Chinese collectors throughout south-east Asia.
